19. Virgil Snyder (1869-1950)

Ph.D. University of Göttingen, Germany, 1894
During his more than forty years at Cornell University, Snyder devoted himself to improving the teaching of mathematics, guiding his students into research, and carrying on his research in the fields of geometry of the line and sphere, configurations of ruled surfaces, and birational transformations.
