| This volume deals with the dynamics of area-preserving surface diffeomorphisms. In dimension 2, some specific mathematical tools are available. In addition, the authors present several approaches and some applications. In particular, they try to show how the geometrical theory of dynamical systems, the group theory, the hydrodynamics and the plane topology interact. A publication of the Société Mathématique de France, Marseilles (SMF), distributed by the AMS in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Orders from other countries should be sent to the SMF. Members of the SMF receive a 30% discount from list.
Graduate students and research mathematicians interested in conservative dynamical systems, diffeomorphism, periodic orbits, and surface diffeomorphisms.
