"Pi Record High," in Random Samples, Science, 20 December 2002, page 2325.

At the University of Tokyo, Yasumasa Kanada and colleagues recently calculated over one trillion digits of pi. The calculation took over 400 hours of computer time on a Hitachi supercomputer. This short article also has a log graph showing the records of pi calculations over the last 60 years.
