An effective and economical way to get
the most applicants for your open position.
Suggested uses: Positions available, books or
lecture notes, books sought, typing services, manuscript
services, or other products and services.
Classified Advertising Rates will now be billed by the word at a rate of US$3.50 per word. No member
discounts apply.
Advertisements in the “Positions
Available” classified
section are set with a minimum two-line headline
consisting of the institution name, unless additional
headline copy is specified. Ads appear in the
language in which they are submitted.
U.S. laws prohibit discrimination
in employment on the basis of color, age, sex,
race, religion or national origin. “Positions
Available” advertisements
from institutions outside the U.S. must be accompanied
by a statement that the institution does not discriminate
on these grounds, whether or not it is subject
to U.S. laws.

Display Advertising
Make an impact through Display Advertising
Increase your sales and connect with new
customers.
The Notices makes it possible
for all companies and institutions to advertise
products and services to the community of mathematicians,
statisticians, computer scientists, engineers,
and other professionals who are regular readers
of this influential publication.
• Get your products in front of your target
audience regularly by placing monthly or multiple
ads each year … advertising rates in Notices are
reduced for advertisers placing four or more ads per
yearly volume.
• Build customer recognition by placing your
ad in the same position in each issue. Even if
you cannot contract for the steady exposure of
a premium position in Notices, you can
still arrange to have your full-page ad appear
in the same position—next to a high-profile
section or feature—in each issue … and
at no extra charge.
• Rates are for black and
white standard space units, except where indicated.
Any individual or institutional member is entitled
to a 20% discount on display ads. This discount
does not apply to university presses or advertising
agencies, nor publishers with whom members are
associated.
An additional 10% discount off the usual advertising
rates is extended to publishers and advertising
agencies. Call for details.
Instructions
Please supply, for each advertisement, insertion
instructions that clearly state: name
of publication, advertiser, date to be inserted,
size, and identification of advertisement, plus
any special instructions.
Copy
Requirements
Originals are preferred, but the AMS will accept
copy to be typeset. The AMS will charge advertisers
cost + 25% for normal copy; difficult composition
and/or extensive alterations from advertiser will
be charged according to the labor involved. Also,
the advertiser will be charged for any repairs
made to damaged copy, or for any screening requested.
Mechanicals requiring more than normal camera work
will be charged at cost + 25%. Bleeds, $100 extra.
Proof Sheets
Tear sheets will be mailed with invoices.

Rate
Protection Policy
Rate protection is extended for the contract period
on all contracts in force at the date of notice
of rate increase. Orders for more than a year in
advance are not accepted. A contract year starts
from the date of the first insertion. All rates
are subject to change without notice.
Short
Rate Information
Advertisers will be short rated if, within a 12-month
period from the date of first insertion, they do
not use the amount of space on which their billings
have been based. If more space is used than contracted,
adjustment to a lower rate will be made.

Cancellations
Cancellations are not accepted after the black and white insertion order dealine for any month. A cancellation fee of 50% of the ad cost will be assessed.
Publisher's
Approval
The publisher reserves the right to reject any
advertising not in keeping with the publication's
standards. Advertising that simulates editorial
content is not accepted. Acceptance shall not be
construed as approving the accuracy or legality
of any advertising.
Liability
The advertiser and advertising agency assume sole
liability for all content of the advertisement
printed, including without limitation claims
of copyright infringement or unfair competition,
and they also assume sole responsibility for any claims
arising there from against the publisher.
Delinquent
Accounts
Advertisers with delinquent accounts must pay the
previous balance and prepay the new advertisement.
